Hermes

Bold and striking—Hermes is exactly that, both on and off the canvas. He’s an eight-year-old tuxedo cat and the biggest lover you’ll ever meet. We adopted him when he was five, and after years of him watching me paint, my husband requested a portrait of him for our home. The canvas is made from reclaimed lumber sourced from our family business. Instead of letting scrap wood end up in the landfill, I repurpose it to create unique surfaces for my work. I paint with acrylic because I love the process of layering—especially when it comes to capturing the texture and depth of fur.
